Road crashes kill 11

Countrywide road accidents killed 11 people and injured 20 others yesterday and Monday.

Our staff correspondent from Sylhet reports, three people died when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Dakshin Surma's Telibazar area yesterday.

They were Rukshana, 35, her daughter Meem, 7, and the auto-rickshaw driver Salam, 25.

Our Rangpur correspondent reports, motorcyclists-- Arafat, 23, Mizan, 22, and Firoj, 20--died when a truck ran them over on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Mithapukur's Dulhapur yesterday.

Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, 15 passengers were injured when a bus flipped on its side in Banshkhali's Napoya Bazar yesterday.

Salma, 25, and her son Shahadat, 5, sustained 25 percent and 90 percent burns as hot water and fuel oil spilled on them.

In Habiganj, Mamunur Rashid, 30, died when a truck hit his motorcycle on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bahubol's Duba area Monday.

Our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports, Ator Ali, 50, died when a motorcyclist hit his bicycle on Sarail-Dharanti road at the district's Uchaliapara yesterday.

Our Dinajpur correspondent adds, Shamsul Alam, 45, assistant secretary of Joypurhat district Jamaat, died yesterday after his motorcycle hit a culvert bridge near Itakhol Bazar in Joypurhat Sadar upazila Monday.
