Prothom Alo, World Vision award three journalists

Three print media journalists were awarded by Prothom Alo and World Vision yesterday for their reports on child protection issues over the last one year.

Moshrefa Yasmin of the daily Ittefaq; Shipon Habib of the daily Jugantar; and Jhorna Moni of Bhorer Kagoj won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Each received a crest, a certificate and prize money during a ceremony in the capital's Prothom Alo office.

Last year, Prothom Alo and World Vision organised a workshop on reporting on child protection issues. Participants were then asked to submit their published reports to Prothom Alo for evaluation.

Prothom Alo Associate Editor Abdul Qayyum moderated the event while Dhaka University Supernumerary Prof Shakhawat Ali Khan congratulated the winners.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu encouraged journalists to report more on the hardships marginalised children of minority communities face.
