Bangladeshi-Australian girl’s body found in acid-filled bathtub in Sydney
Australian police arrested a man in connection with the brutal murder of a girl in Sydney.
The victim is yet to be formally identified by police, according to Sky News.
However, according to Akidul Islam, a Bangladeshi writer and journalist based in Australia, the victim is Anima Hayat Annie (19), daughter of Abul Hayat and Afra Ruma, Bangladeshi expatriates in Australia.
The victim's body was reportedly found in an "acid-filled" bathtub at a residential unit in Sydney's western suburbs on Sunday, Sky News reported.
The man, who was reportedly living with her in the apartment, was arrested after he surrendered on Monday afternoon (local time).
A truck has been seized from his possession and will be forensically examined.
