New semester, new me

Tips to help you finally get things right

I am nearly done with university, and I have been making new resolutions every semester for the last 3 years. I haven't been able to follow them perfectly, but they have helped. Here's how you can use this semester to improve your grades and your life in general.

1. Don't put things off for tomorrow

I have been trying to follow this resolution since I was in Kindergarten, and it's borderline impossible. But even if you can finish half the work, it's still worth it. Try to study your class lectures at home on the same day. One useful method to do this would be to make clearer, prettier notes from the messy class notes. It doesn't require a lot of hard work, but helps you remember things.

2. Use the free periods

It is extremely tempting to spend all those 2-hour long free periods eating fuchka with friends, but even that becomes monotonous when you have a 6-month long semester. Once in a while, you should read books or finish your homework during that time. You'll be amazed at how much work you can get done.

3. Bring lunch from home.

I have realised that I spend thousands of taka on food at campus every month, and the food isn't even that good. It's greasy and unhealthy. So pack lunch from home whenever you can to save your digestive system and your money.

4. Aim high

Always strive to get better grades than necessary. For example, even if you know you can survive with a B+ in a course, work towards an A. That way, even if you get a grade lower, it won't hurt your CGPA.
