A BNP leader Sunday alleged that the government has formed a torture squad comprising high officials of police to control the opposition leaders and activists.
"We heard that the squad will later turn into a killing squad," BNP Joint General Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said at a press conference at the party's headquarters at Nayapaltan in the capital.
He alleged that the government is making its last ditch effort to control the opposition through what he termed its "loyal administration".
"But the government has forgotten the history. This effort had never been successful in the past," he said.
