Mohiuddin Ahmed, acting president of the then East Pakistan Students Union and adviser of the now defunct the Daily Desh died of cardiac arrest yesterday at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. He was 63.
He left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death.
The namaz-e-janaza of Mohiuddin Ahmed will be held today at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayers.
His qulkhawani will be held after Jumma prayers at his 68, Kakrail residence.
Meanwhile, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia expressed her deep shock at the death of Mohiuddin Ahmed.
"The country lost a dedicated politician at his death," Khaleda Zia said in her condolence message. She also prayed for the salvation of departed soul and expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
BNP secretary general Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan also expressed shock at the death of Mohiuddin Ahmed.
