US‑Bangla Airlines Managing Director Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun on Sunday unveiled an ambitious expansion plan to operate flights to 30 destinations in 20 countries by December 2027, alongside launching a second airline under the US‑Bangla Group.

Speaking at a press event in Cox’s Bazar, Mamun said the carrier, which began operations in 2014, has grown into one of Bangladesh’s largest private airlines. It currently serves six domestic routes and 14 international destinations across 10 countries.

The group will operate two airlines -- one full‑service and one low‑cost carrier -- to cater to different passenger segments. An official announcement on the new airline is due on July 29 in Dhaka.

Mamun said 21 brand‑new aircraft will join the fleet in 2027, equipped with wireless entertainment, internet connectivity and mobile charging at every seat, with free Wi‑Fi planned for passengers.

US‑Bangla and its sister concern Air Astra now account for about 75 percent of Bangladesh’s domestic aviation market. The airline operates roughly 94 domestic flights daily and 30 international flights, totalling about 3,500 flights a month.

Mamun highlighted pioneering routes to Chennai, China and the Maldives, and announced plans for services to Phuket, Brunei, South Korea, Japan, Dammam and Madinah, subject to approvals.
