Momtaz Begum passes away

Dr Momtaz Begum, vice chairman of Premier Group and Sheikh Hasina University of Science and Technology Board of Trustees, breathed her last at a Singapore hospital yesterday.

Wife of freedom fighter Dr HBM Iqbal, chairman of Premier Bank Ltd, Momtaz was also chairman of Royal University Board of Trustees, said a press release.

She was also a former member of the parliament.

She was the vice chairman of Hilton Hotels, Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel.

Momtaz Begum was also the managing director of Gulf Medical Center and Bukhara Restaurant (Pvt) Ltd, director of Nowrin Electronics Ltd, Bengal Tiger Cement Industries Ltd and Air Concern International (Ltd), and chairman of Beacon Travels International.

Her namaz-e-janaza will be held tomorrow at Banani Jame Mosque after Zohr prayers and at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asr prayers.
