NIDs of Hasina, 9 of her family members ‘locked’

The National Identity (NID) Registration Wing under the Election Commission has "locked" the NID cards of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and nine of her family members, effectively rendering the cards unusable for any official purpose.
A locked NID cannot be used for any services requiring identity verification, nor can its information be updated or corrected. They will not get any NID-related services, said EC officials.
The NIDs of the 10 were locked through an official letter on February 16, signed by ASM Humayun Kabir, director general of the National Identity Registration Wing at the EC.
The cards of Hasina's son and and former ICT affairs adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, her daughter Saima Wazed, her sister Rehana Siddiq (Sheikh Rehana), Rehana's daughter and UK MP Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq, Rehana's daughter Azmina Siddiq were "locked".
Others affected by the decision are Maj Gen Tarique Ahmed Siddiq, security adviser to Hasina, his wife Shaheen Siddiq, and his daughter Bushra Siddiq.
