Bangladeshi-origin British citizen held with yaba in Moulvibazar

Rapid Action Battalion has arrested a British citizen of Bangladesh origin from an abandoned house at a tea garden in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar.

The arrestee is Delwar Hossain. His home is in the South Surma area of Sylhet, said Commander Arafat Islam, director of legal and media wing of Rab headquarters.

While addressing a press briefing at Rab-9 Srimangal office this afternoon, the official said Rab-9 members raided the abandoned house in Jagchhara tea garden based on secret information.

Delwar was arrested with a pistol, two bullets and 4,400 yaba tablets during the raid early today, he said.

However, his associates flee the scene, he added.

Rab-9 Director Wing Commander Md Mominul Haque, Sreemangal Rab-9 Company Commander Major Abdul Mukit Nafeez were present at the briefing.
