ACC to probe alleged illegal assets of Munni Saha

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate allegations of illegal asset accumulation by senior journalist Munni Saha and her husband, Kabir Hossain Taposh, owner of the advertising agency MS Promotional.

ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain shared the decision with reporters today, stating that the commission will examine transactions totalling Tk 134 crore in the couple's bank accounts, which currently hold a balance of Tk 14 crore.

Allegations suggest their assets exceed known sources of income.

Earlier in October, the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit has asked banks to provide account details of Munni Saha.
