Bangladesh, a potential market: DHL Global Forwarding official
Bangladesh has a rapidly growing economy, and the logistics industry shall grow side by side of the burgeoning economy, said Kelvin Leung, CEO for DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific.
“Accordingly DHL Global Forwarding has great potential in this country,” Leung said in a meeting conducted as part of DHL's commitment to be the “employer of choice” for its current and future employees.
During his recent visit to Bangladesh, he also focused on discussing and reviewing the local business, including business prospects, achievements and challenges in the country as well as the company's GoGreen, GoHelp and GoTeach CSR initiatives.
He also shared his sympathy for the victims of the Rana Plaza tragedy that has resulted in more than a thousand deaths, DHL said in a statement yesterday.
Leung hopes Bangladesh will recover rapidly and it has a vast growth potential lying ahead, if resources are utilised properly.
In the meeting, he also highlighted the 2013 opportunities in Bangladesh and actions needed to strengthen the Bangladesh business.
Finally he interacted with all levels of employees at a question answer session, according to the statement.
He has also conducted meetings with several key stakeholders and visited customer sites to appraise the company's local operations.
