Deep convection over North Bay
Deep convection is taking place over the North Bay as the southwest monsoon is strong over the zone, according to a Met warning.
“Squally weather may affect the North Bay and maritime ports of Bangladesh,” a special bulletin of the Met Office said yesterday evening, a day after a monsoon depression over the bay crossed the Indian coast.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. three.
All fishing-boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
