GC Dev Memorial Lecture

Prof Syed Manzoorul Islam and Prof Mohammad Mohabbat Khan delivered GC Dev Memorial Lectures 2002 and 2003 respectively at RC Majumder auditorium at Dhaka University (DU) yesterday.
Prof Manzoorul delivered lecture on 'An ambiguous journey toward science: A postmodernist reading of Thomas Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions' and Prof Mohabbat on 'Ethics and morality in public service'.
GC Dev Philosophy Research Centre organised the programme.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Harun-Or-Rashid chaired the programme, while Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique was the chief guest.
Prof Arefin at the programme said the nation would never forget the contribution of GC Dev in the country's philosophical field.
He also underscored the need for practicing science-based and humanitarian philosophies.
Prof GC Dev was one of the martyred intellectuals during the Liberation War in 1971.
