Subimal Dewan passes away
Subimal Dewan, former adviser to late President Ziaur Rahman, passed away at his residence at College Gate in the town yesterday at the age of 93.
He was also the president of Rangamati Pratibandhi School and Bangladesh Special Olympic, Rangamati branch.
He received a number of awards, including National Social Welfare Award, Family Planning Association of Bangladesh Award and received an award from Rangamati Hill District Council for his outstanding contribution to society.
Subimal left behind four sons and four daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
BNP Chairperson and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Khaleda Zia, State Minister for CHT Affairs Dipankar Talukder and Chairman of Rangamati Hill District Council Nikhil Kumar Chakma, in separate massages, expressed deep shock at the death of Subimol Dewan and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
