Rajshahi Polytech reopens tomorrow

Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute (RPI) reopens tomorrow amid tight security and restrictions on rallies, processions and activities of the student bodies.
Earlier, on March 24, RPI authorities suspended all classes and examinations for an indefinite period following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over establishing supremacy on the campus.
Campus sources said that RPI authorities yesterday held a meeting at the office of the principal and decided to resume classes from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the authorities decided to reopen the dormitories only for the female students today afternoon. But they are yet to declare when the boys' dormitories will be opened.
The RPI authorities imposed restrictions on rallies, processions and activities of the student bodies on the campus for an indefinite period.
The authorities also asked teachers, officials, students and employees of the institute to carry the identity cards on the campus.
They also imposed ban on distribution of leaflets or booklets, use of posters and entry of vehicles on the campus.
