Rivals injure BCL leader

President of Bangladesh Chhatra League Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute (RPI) unit was seriously injured in an attack by his party rivals yesterday.
The attack was a sequel to Sunday's clash between two factions of BCL RPI unit over establishing supremacy on the campus.
One faction is led by BCL President Nizam, while the other by Hatem. Five BCL men belonging to Hatem were injured during the clash.
Campus and police sources said a group of BCL activists led by Hatem entered the examination hall of the institute where BCL President Nizam and his supporters were sitting for exam.
They beat up Nizam with hockey stick, leaving him seriously injured. He is now undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
