Speakers at a programme on Sunday called on the young generation to practise freethinking logically from the very beginning in order to solve any problems.
They said the practice of debate from school level would help them achieve their targets in this connection.
Addressing at the concluding ceremony of the 5th batch of three-month training and grooming session titled 'Star Campus-Drishty School of Debate 2009' at a local hotel with Drishty President Masud Bakul in the chair.

Abul Momen said people in the Indian subcontinent have a long history of arguments, adding: “But most of the debates we usually do in our everyday life are pseudo-debates and our politicians also have been doing such debates in our parliament.”
“We should not do debate for making enmity but we have to do it for our own development,” he added.
A total of 50 students from eight English medium schools of the city participated in the training.
The schools include Mastermind International School, William Carey Academy, Sunshine Grammar School, Cantonment English School, Cider International School, Chittagong Grammar School, Dewdrops Preparatory School and Radiant School and College.
