“Journey to Wilderness”

In his write-up 'Journey to Wilderness' Dr. Mozammel H Khan writes in DS on 7th Dec. 2008:
“Firstly, from the moral viewpoint, H. M. Ershad, the fallen dictator, by no means is the best imitable icon of our society. He never learned a single lesson from his downfall through the nation-wide mass upsurge. Quite to the contrary, he is, in fact, the symbol of the lowest moral depravity a human soul could ever plunge into. The way he simultaneously parleyed with the two rival political camps once again testified to his character”.
I fully agree with Dr. Khan, especially when he says, “he (Ershad) is, in fact, the symbol of the lowest moral depravity a human soul could ever plunge into”. But again, I ask a counter question to everyone in Bangladesh, please tell us about the people who support Ershad, vote him to parliament, court him to political alliance and forgive him for his corruption and crimes?
Hasina is reported to have offered him 50 parliamentary seats as a 'Mohajote' partner. Rumour also goes that she would make him the next president of Bangladesh. Khaleda must have tried and failed to win Ershad's support.
Who is left now among the politicians who does not love Ershad? As a nation where we stand needs no explanation. Bangladesh always got and will get a government it rightly deserves.
