Sector commanders to publish war criminals' list
Sector Commanders' Forum (SCF) will publish a list of war criminals of 1971 Liberation War.
The SCF Convener Maj Gen. (retd) KM Safiullah told the news agency last night that a sub-committee is now working hard to prepare the list of war criminals on the basis of strong evidence.
“The list is expected to be finalised by November 15 and then we will make the list public through a press conference,” he said.
Safiullah said the SCF took the responsibility of making a list of the war criminals, as the caretaker government is very much indifferent to this issue.
“From the very beginning of our forum's activities, we have been urging the caretaker government to prepare a list of the war criminals to bring them to book. But unfortunately, we did not get any positive response,” he said.
In reply to a question Safiullah said the war criminals will be exposed to people and their punishment will be ensured.
The former army chief urged the political parties not to give chance to the war criminals to join their parties or alliances.
Safiullah said within two or three days, the SCF leaders will visit Chapainawabganj and Pabna districts to create mass awareness against the war criminals.
Later, they will visit Faridpur, Chittagong and Comilla with the same objective, he said.
To a question on BNP's alliance with Jamaat, he said they will hold opinion-exchange meeting with the nationalist party and ask them to quit the war criminals.
