Bulb factory gutted in city
A devastating fire gutted most of the tools and machinery of a wood-made three-storied bulb factory at Nazimuddin Road in the city yesterday morning.
Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) officials said the fire caught KC Electric Industries, a small bulb factory, at about 6:30am. Nine fire-fighters fought for over an hour to douse the fire.
No casualty, however, was reported.
The loss due to the fire was yet to be estimated, FSCD officials said.
Kotwali police said the fire originated from the leakage of a gas pipeline at the ground floor of the factory. A dumb employee noticed the fire at first.
