Govt urged to ensure proper investigation
Bangladesh Manobadhikar Bastobayan Sangstha urged the government to ensure proper investigation and punishment to the killer of writer and former teacher of Udayan School Mumina Deyasini, says a press release.
Executive Director of the organisation Advocate Elina Khan and General Secretary (acting) Nurul Islam Khan in a joint statement expressed deep concern over the incident that took place at the victim's own resident at Dhanmondi.
According to the news items published in different national dailies yesterday, a nephew and distant relative of Mumina slaughtered her for being refused of money demanded from Mumina.
But the real motive of the killing is yet to be discovered although the killer was arrested on the spot, the statement said.
The organisation drew attention of the law enforcement agencies so that the criminal cannot escape law.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Mohila Parishad also condemned and expressed its deep concern over the killing of writer Mumina Deyasini, also a former member of the organisation.
The organsation in a statement yesterday demanded proper investigation into the incident to find out the real motive of the murder. It also demanded security of the family members of the victim.
Mohila Parishad urged the chief adviser and the concerned ministries to take necessary measures to prevent recurrence of such incident to resist violence against women and children.
