Grameenphone cuts tariffs
Grameenphone Ltd. has introduced new tariff rates, with F&F and nighttime rates as low a 25 paisa per minute.
Under the new pre-paid tariff structure, both smile and djuice subscribers can enjoy a 25 paisa per minute rate on nighttime calls from 12am to 8am to any GP number, says a press release.
Tariff rate on calls to F&F numbers is also reduced to 25 paisa per minute from the previous rate of 60 paisa per minute.
Smile subscribes will enjoy sms rate of Tk 1 per sms to any number, while djuice subscribers will only be charged 75 paisa per sms to all numbers.
Smile and djuice subscribers will enjoy a 30-second pulse.
Under the new post-paid tariff structure, the xplore package 1 and xplore package 2 have been unified, effective from March 25, 2008, and the start-up price for xplore is now just BDT800.
The Monthly Commitment Fee of BDT 1000 will no longer be applicable for the “xplore” package, as the Monthly Line Rent is fixed at BDT100 (excluding VAT). This fee too will be waived, if the subscribers' monthly airtime usage exceeds BDT1000.
A new 75 percent discounted rate of 25 paisa per minute to 3 F&F numbers has been introduced, for 24 hours a day, for all xplore postpaid subscribers. xplore subscribers can now change their F&F numbers every 30 days, instead of the existing 60 days.
xplore subscribers will now enjoy a flat tariff of BDT1.30 per minute for calls to any operator 24 hours a day. SMS to F&F numbers is charged at BDT 0.50 per sms, while SMS to any other number is charged at BDT1 per sms.
The postpaid tariff rates on SMS to F&F numbers is now charged at BDT 0.50/sms, while SMS to any other local number is set at BDT 1 per sms.
