Veteran actor Baby Zaman critically ill
Veteran film actor Baby Zaman is critically ill. He is now being treated at the ICU of Bangladesh Medical Hospital in the capital. He has been ailing from kidney and liver complications for several years.
His doctor treated him at home for many years, as he was in no state to go to hospital. However, as his condition deteriorated on January 4, doctors had no choice but to rush him to hospital. The artiste had an open-heart surgery in 2003.
Now under close medical supervision, he is being artificially fed with a tube.
“I seek everyone's dua (prayer) for my husband's recovery,†said Rawshan Ara Zaman, wife of Baby Zaman.
Baby Zaman delivered memorable performances in many films, including “Jibon Theke Neyaâ€, “Koonch Baran Kanyaâ€, “Kagojer Noukaâ€, “Shuorani Duoraniâ€, “Dui Bhaiâ€, “Jaal Theke Jwalaâ€, “Rajlokkhi Srikantaâ€, “Shomapti†and “Jog Biyogâ€.
Born in Kolkata, India in 1933, he was given the name Badruzzaman by his family.
