Perfect Takes

Catching up with Suborna Mustafa

Actress Suborna Mustafa has a demanding schedule these days. Her regular appearances in the daily soap “Gohine” take her every month to a remote village in Gazipur where shooting for the serial is in progress.
Suborna says that her character, Romola, and the serial's storyline are great, adding that she is enjoying the versatility of her role in the serial.
Suborna is also the producer of “Gohine”, being made under the banner of her production house Saatkahon and directed by Badrul Anam Saud.
“Gohine”, however, does not mark her debut as a producer. Previous works under Saatkahon include the serials “Simanto”, “Uposhonghar” and several other one-hour plays and tele-films. The actress says that she also has to give extra time to her production house.
Apart from “Gohine”, Suborna also plays the role of Komola Bibi in a new serial, titled “Kana Sirajuddoula O Komol Bibir Otithishala”, being jointly produced by Suborna and Badrul Anam Soud. On the new serial, Suborna says it is a comedy sure to entertain viewers. Saju Khadem will play the role of Suborna's husband in the serial.
Boishakhi TV meanwhile is airing the Rulin Rahman serial “Utshob”, featuring the noted actress.
The busy actress is also set to take on two new projects; Shahiduzzaman Selim's new serial “Jontor Montor” and Arun Chowdhury's serial “Oporajita”.
Acting is the pivot of her life, says the thespian, adding that she wants to dedicate herself entirely to performing art form. Directorial works are undertaken as an interest and production, to meet financial needs, Suborna Mustafa adds.
