Regional workshop on good sanitation, hygiene today
A three-day regional workshop on 'South Asia Sanitation and Hygiene' begins today at Brac training centre at Rajendrapur to focus on the need for greater access to good sanitation.
The workshop jointly organised by IRC International Water and Sanitation Center, Brac and Water Aid with support from Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council, will bring together over 50 sanitation and hygiene professionals from the region, said Dr Babar Kabir, director of Brac yesterday.
Dr Babar said, discussions would be held as to how to make progress towards the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) targets to reduce by half the proportion of people without access to basic sanitation by 2015.
