First aid corners at 25 Ctg schools

Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) launched fast aid corners (FACs) at its 25 schools yesterday.
Mayor M Manjur Alam inaugurated a corner as the chief guest at Kapasgola City Corporation Girls High School where councillor Sayed Golam Haider Mintu, CCC Chief Executive Manjur-e-Elahi, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Joint Secretary Md Asadul Islam, CCC chief health officer Dr Selim Akhter Chowdhury spoke at the function with city corporation health standing committee president Dr Nurul Abser in the chair.
Manjur said the city corporation set up the corners at schools to provide the students quick first aid which will help check major sickness as well as loss of life. CCC inaugurated this service at its schools and will be expanded this programme to other city schools later on, mayor added.
Earlier, the mayor handed over certificates and equipment to the teachers who participated in the training on fast aid.
