PC Roy photo exhibition opens at DU

A three-day photo exhibition was launched yesterday at Dhaka University to mark the 150th birth anniversary of noted scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy, widely known as PC Roy.
A total of 100 rare photographs of Roy will be displayed in the exhibition jointly organised by DU and Xpression-Bengal, a Kolkata-based research organisation, in Curzon Hall auditorium.
State Minister for Science and ICT Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest, amid presence of DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and others.
The exhibition will remain open for all during working hours.
PC Roy was born in Khulna in 1861. He completed his PhD at Calcutta University in 1908 and was conferred an honorary PhD degree from Dhaka University in 1934.
He died in 1944.
