NBR seeks bank statement of Teknaf UP chairman

The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) asked all commercial banks to provide bank statements of Teknaf Union Parishad Chairman Md Zafar Ahmed and 13 members of his family.
The CIC sent letters to the banks on August 22 seeking account and transaction details in order to check their income tax files.
The 13 family members are Zafar's wife Hamida Begum, sons Dedar, Shajahan, Russell, Iliyas and Salahuddin, daughters Urmee, Sufia, Amena Khatun and Mostak Mia, and brothers Shamsul Alam, Kabir Ahmed and Jalal.
