Acid attack on housewife

Criminals threw acid on a housewife at Gazipur Bazaar under Amtali upazila in Barguna district on Friday night.
Critically burned, she was admitted to Patuakhali General Hospital where the on-duty doctor sent her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Victim Hazera Begum, 30, a mother of three children, is wife of Liton Dhali of Gazipur Bazaar under the upazila.
Family and hospital sources said, Hazera and other family members were sleeping at their house on Friday night when an unidentified gang threw acid on Hazera's body through the window.
Habibur Rahman, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Patuakhali General Hospital said that the acid severely burned her body.
Hazera contested for reserve seat for women UP member in Gazipur in the last election on April 3 this year.
'I was defeated due to some of my cousins as I have a land dispute with them', said Hazera.
