Piya still untraced

Schoolgirl Rehnuma Kamal Piya who was abducted by a gang of criminals from in front of her school around 11:30 am on March 2, is still untraced.
A student of class nine at Shibalaya Government High School at Aricha Ghat, she was going to attend a private tuition from the school.
Shipon Karmaker, son of Haripada Das of Berazani village under Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district and an employee of Mou Jewelers at Aricha Ghat in the district abducted Piya with the help of others, said Mostafa Kamal, father of Piya.
Shipon also gave death threat to Piya's father over cell phone on March 4 while pressing to withdraw the case filed against them, victim's family sources said.
The family sources urged the authorities concerned to rescue their 13-year-old child. Otherwise the abductors will sell Piya to a brothel, they feared.
Contacted, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibalaya police station Mir Rezaul Karim said they have launched a vigorous drive to rescue the girl.
Mostofa Kamal of Shibalaya Bazaar area in Shibalaya upazila, filed a case with the local police station on March 2 against five people including Shipon Das and his employer Gautam Chandra Karmaker.
