Cases against DU teachers, students false

Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Convener Comrade Khalequzzaman yesterday termed the case against the Dhaka University teachers and students false and demanded withdrawal of the case and their unconditional release immediately.
In a statement he said the way the respectable teachers were arrested and punished to defuse the students' agitation is shameful and disgraceful to all involved in teaching profession and the nation.
Meanwhile, Samajtantrik Students Front Central Committee President Khalequzzaman Lipon and General Secretary Nikhil Das in a statement also urged the government to release the teachers and students of Dhaka University unconditionally.
"It was one of the characteristics of the previous governments of the country. This government appears to be following the same path too in the case of releasing the teachers. Its consequence cannot be good," the statement said.
