Team leaves for Thailand today
A four-member Bangladesh team would leave Dhaka for Thailand today to participate in the First International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astro-physics.
The competition would be held from December 1 to December 9 at Chiang Mai in Thailand.
The Bangladesh team comprises of Shardindu Gopal Kirtonia of Khulna Zila School, Rafid Mahbub of European Standard School, Pretom Majumdar of Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, Chittagong and Shahriar Rahim Siddique of The British School Dhaka.
Bangladesh Astronomical Association (BAA) selected the four through its talent search programme in six divisional headquarters.
BAA Vice President Ronald Cruz and General Secretary Mashhurul Amin will accompany the team on their tour to Thailand.
