The National Board of Revenue (NBR) yesterday sought information on the bank accounts of Jamaat-e-Islami central leader Delwar Hossain Saidee and the acting Editor of the daily Amar Desh Mahmudur Rahman and his wife Feroza Mahmud.
The Central Intelligence Cell of NBR, in a letter, asked all banks and financial institutions to send information regarding their bank accounts from the date of opening to date, saving instruments, vault, credit cards and FDR within 7 days.
NBR exercised its power as per article 113(F) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 1984 for the sake of proper internal review.
