Indian separatist leader 'arrested'

A leader of Indian separatist group National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) has been arrested near the border in Chittagong, a BBC radio reported yesterday.
The local police authorities however denied the report.
BBC Bangla's Kolkata correspondent reported that Indian intelligence officials had confirmed the news, but said there was doubt whether the arrestee is NLFT Chairman Biswamohan Debbarma or a mid-level leader.
The Chittagong Metropolitan Police commissioner said no NLFT leader was arrested in their jurisdiction, added BBC Bangladesh correspondent.
Around a month back, United Liberation Front of Asom commanders Sasha Choudhury and Chitrabon Hazarika were arrested and handed over to India.
