I Sing the Sea
I sing the sea
The full throated cry of gulls
Thrums within
With abandon
I whirl the dance of wave and foam
I sing the sea
The grit of sand
A meal between teeth
The naked form
Cast as silhouette
Atop a cliff
Howl, good heart, howl
Just as the wind beats against the rock
Let your voice crash upon distant hearts
And echo through the dull cadence of time
And when it is written
As a whisper upon the sand
Your eyes will not forget
You will not forget
Even as the waters become serene
You will not forget
