45th Int'l Kolkata Book Fair to be dedicated to Bangabandhu

The 45th edition of the International Kolkata Book Fair, to be held in July this year, will be dedicated to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh will be the country-in-focus of the event, said organisers yesterday.

The dates for the fair, to be held at Central Park in Salt Lake in the eastern part of Kolkata city, are still being worked out, said the organisers of the event Publishers and Booksellers Guild yesterday, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

Since 2021 is Mujib Borsho and also the 50th year of the independence of Bangladesh, the theme country for this year's fair is Bangladesh.

"All Covid-19 protocols will be followed during the fair and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure book lovers do not face any problem due to the monsoon season," said the organisers.

The organisers are expecting more publishers from Bangladesh to take part in the fair.
