SADIA MOYEEN Signature Bride

You ask any bride-to-be in Bangladesh, regarding what they have been worrying about most before their 'big day'; they would usually have make-up on the top of their list of priorities. However, the very moment, brides are informed of the entrustment of the job to an expert such as Sadia Moyeen, there is no looking back! She can now easily relax and whine about any other thing but makeup.

Sadia Moyeen is one of the most coveted makeup artists of the country. Almost every lady is familiar in her expert hands. For our Signature Bride section, we earned the opportunity to meet with the dexterous artist, who simply loves to transform her brides into beauties.

We had to ask her what a typical Sadia Moyeen bride looked like and she graciously explained. 'I always lean towards a more natural makeup; gone are the days for heavily made up faces. However, my preference has always been on the eyes and I simply love the dramatic makeup on them. As for a general perspective, my notion has always been that the bride must look herself in all circumstances; a glamorous version of her, perhaps".

Excited and beaming, the diva delved into the details, 'The base is one of the most important parts of the makeup. I only use high-end professional products on the skin so that it blends perfectly well with the bride's. Asian women usually have round faces, so I do a little bit of contouring as well to re-create a more chiselled look for the typical bride. This, I do with darker foundations of the same high-end professional makeup that I have used earlier for the base, rather than going for a general contouring kit."

When we asked her about the eyes of the bride, she looked gratified, "I simply love gold shadows, and it makes the bride look extremely sensual. My inclinations are towards kohl, a signature look would definitely incorporate darker eyes and glitters".

Next, we inquired her about the colours to the lips; "I like experimenting with shades of red in matte colours. I think red complements the Asian skin tone perfectly. Plus, traditionally, our wedding dresses are in red, so the colour looks lovely on every bride".

Since a complete look includes hairstyles, we had to ask the diva about this very important aspect. Sadia Moyeen came with a certifiable answer "My beauty parlour - La Belle - specialises in modern hairstyles. Everyone, who is a regular, knows that my brides get a special hairdo, which is unique and utterly sensual. However to create this look I use a lot of hair extensions and special high-end spray. It agonises me to tease the original hair of the bride on her special day, which she has a terrible time dealing with later. To prevent such an atrocity, I use lots of hair extensions and my brides have thanked me immensely for this gesture".

Carrying on the conversation regarding makeup, Sadia Moyeen added, "For the blush-on, I use milder shades. The shades that I prefer to use are peach, pink etc. I don't put extra emphasis on the eyebrows, making sure that it does not steal the thunder of the eyes."
