When you think of an office outfit, you have to make sure it is simple yet formal enough to make your 9 to 5 day more comfortable. With the temperatures dropping rapidly outside, sometimes it can be a pain in the neck to come up with the best outfit combinations for the fashion conscious working women.
Maroons, greys and browns are the top shades for winter. If you have a sari in mind, go for a light shaded or heavy Kashmiri shawl, depending on the weather conditions. A fitted short/cropped sweater in lieu of a mundane blouse would be a snazzy touch to spice up your sari look. Likewise, you can get your tailor to make you a well fitted long-sleeved, boat-necked blouse that would be just as trendy. Team it up with a pair of matching heels or comfy mojri and do not forget to add some protective layers (perhaps a pair of neutral-coloured ankle-length socks) to your feet!
Kurtis are always in when you want a comfy yet stylish professional look. A vivid black or white kurti with a bold colourful short vest/coatee would give you a creatively sassy appearance. You can sport it with a pair of navy blue denims, tights or jeggings, along with multi-coloured khussas or flat ballerinas as go-to footwear. You can also go for any other subtly embroidered or plain kurti and drape a light shawl around it to keep your office look comfy yet stylish. Brightly coloured georgette scarves or subtler woollen scarves would also be a great addition to your kurti look.
Western is perhaps the easiest form of clothing to keep you warm and make you look stylish at the same time. But before you jump to conclusions, there is some nitty-gritty that you need to know before opting for western wear this winter. To start off, robe coats are in at the moment. They can be flaunted with a tucked in collared shirt or a dressy top, coupled with a pair of jeans or pants. Throw in a pair of chic ankle boots and cosy socks to complement this look perfectly.
A finely tailored blazer with formal shirt and trousers are evergreen business formals for the winter that give a professional edge to your appearance. Put on some closed toe pumps or wedges with this formal look. Flared trousers are another current runway trend that you can team up with a fancy blouse.
On a field trip day at work, bring out the fashionista in you and go for a full comfy-casual look — a casual printed or one-coloured top can be teamed up with a plain shrug or jacket. A pair of loafers or ballerinas can be a good match for footwear. Moreover, you can drape a scarf around your neck to keep it snug. Also, remember to keep a pair of spare gloves in your bag just in case the weather outdoors gets chillier than usual!
