Destination wedding hullabaloo
Well, don't get me wrong. Many people would skip in delight when they hear of an wedding arranged overseas, but to me, that only meant a lot of hassle — getting a week-long leave from the office, packing suitcases; and worst of all, worrying about the children and being split over which grandmother to stack them onto while I am away partying.
All these, would have been much easier if only the destination was Bangladesh!
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. I understand Dhaka is too mainstream and jam-packed to give out any vibes of love. But what about Sylhet, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, or even Rangamati?
Our country, as beautiful as it already is, has many splendid hotels in numerous scenic locations of our country, like The Palace Resort, Bahubal, Habiganj, Sylhet; or the Mermaid Beach Resort, Cox's Bazar.
These hotels provide all the support for a complete wedding to take place on their premises.
If only I had written this story a few months before, Shayan might have wed Riyanna in Sylhet, instead of Phuket. Sigh!
