US-Bangla Airlines today celebrated 12 years of operations, highlighting its fleet expansion, network growth and future expansion plans.

The private carrier began operations on July 17, 2014, with flights on the Dhaka–Jashore route using a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft. It now operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including three Airbus A330-300s and nine Boeing 737-800s.

On May 15, 2016, US-Bangla expanded its wings to international routes by operating flights on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route.

The airline currently flies from Dhaka to Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Saidpur and Rajshahi. At the same time, its international network covers Kathmandu, Kolkata, Chennai, Malé, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok and Guangzhou.

The airline said it plans to add more Boeing 737-8 and 737-800NG aircraft to its fleet. It also aims to launch flights to destinations including Dammam, Medina, Bahrain, Kuwait, Colombo, Hong Kong and several cities in Malaysia by 2027, followed by London and Rome by 2028, and New York, Toronto and Sydney by 2030.

US-Bangla recently won the Best Domestic Airline 2025 award, its fourth consecutive title in the category.

The airline employs around 4,000 people at home and abroad and operates more than 40 sales offices, as well as online ticketing services and its "Skystar" frequent-flyer programme.

Managing Director Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mamun said the airline would continue expanding its fleet with modern aircraft to improve passenger services and remain competitive.

"We are ready to take on any competitive challenge. US-Bangla is constantly adding new aircraft to its fleet to ensure comfortable service for passengers," he said, thanking government agencies, travel partners and customers for their support over the past 12 years.
