Digital Security Act case: April 22 set for charge framing hearing against Rita Dewan

A Dhaka tribunal today set April 22 for charge framing hearing against Baul singer Rita Dewan and two others in a case filed for "hurting religious sentiment" under the Digital Security Act.
Rita and two other accused -- Shahjahan Kabir and Iqbal Hossain -- now on bail, were present in the court today.
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain set the date after scrutinising case dockets and other relevant documents.
The judge also extended Rita Dewan's bail till April 22.

The tribunal on December 2 last year issued arrest warrants against Rita, Shahjahan and Iqbal, accepting the probe report of the case. The report was filed by the Police Bureau of Investigation.
On February 2 last year, lawyer Imrul Hasan filed the case against Rita with the tribunal.
