Tigers lose by 95 runs in the warm-up

Bangladesh lost their last warm-up game against India by 95 runs at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff today. In response to India's mammoth 359 for seven, Bangladesh could only manage 264 runs from 49.3 overs. Bangladesh will be playing their World Cup opener against South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London on June 2.

Rubel tries to play it on the leg side but misses it completely and the ball goes between keeper and slip after deflecting off the pad. Mehedi dives in to complete the third run but Karthik whips the bail off before he could get back in the crease. A run-out to end the warm-up between Bangladesh and India. Bangladesh lose by 95 runs.

Dinesh Karthik collects ball after the wrong one beats Mosaddek's outside edge and he whips the bails off in no time.

Mushfiqur Rahim goes for a sweep off Kuldeep Yadav delivery but misses it completely and hits his stumps. Mushfiqur misses out on his ton.

Mahmudullah comes down the track for a slog but misses it completely and the ball crashes his middle and leg stump. Bangladesh in a spot of bother.

Mithun completely decieved by the googly as it hits him plumb infront. Mithun goes without trubling the scorer.

Liton goes down the track off a Chahal delivery but misses it completely. The keeper, Dhoni makes no mistake as he takes the bails off to dismiss Liton.

Mushfiqur pushes one down the ground for a single and brings up his fifty. Bangladesh require another 203 runs from 22 overs.

Bangladesh look to recover after back-to-back wickets with Liton Das and Musfiqur Rahim trying to build a meaningful partnership. Liton has moved on to 32 and although not at his best, the right-hander has managed to survive a difficult period. Bangladesh need 286 runs from 35 overs.

Shakib falls first ball. Can't dig out the yorker from Bumrah.

Soumya is the first wicket to fall for the Tigers as he inside-edges a delivery from Bumrah through to the wicket-keeper. Shakib Al Hasan comes to the crease

 

Decent start from Soumya and Liton

Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das are out in the open for the Tigers. Soumya have already played a few fantastic shots against Bumrah and Shami. Liton looking slightly uncomfortable out there in the middle and played on a few deliveries towards his stumps but was lucky to escape. Bangladesh are 33 for no loss after five overs in their chase of India's 359.

Rahul, Dhoni tons take India to 359/7

Fantastic tons from KL Rahul and MS Dhoni took India to 359 for 7 in the World Cup warm-up match against Bangladesh. Rahul's 99-ball 108 and Dhoni's 78-ball 113 not only took India out of trouble after they were struggling at 102 for four but put the momentum in India's sails. The duo put up a 164-run partnership together for the fifth wicket and capitalised on any loose balls that were bowled by the Tigers. 

The Tigers pacers had started the proceedings well with Mustafizur and Rubel amongst the wickets. Mustafizur went for a few runs in the death overs while Rubel conceeded 25 in his last two after going for 37 in his first six. Abu Jayed failed to settle into a good line and length and was expensive. The spinners came in for some rough treatment with Shakib, Mehedi and Mosaddek going for 58, 40 and 32 runs in six, five and three overs respectively. Shakib picked up two wickets at the end but Dhoni's onslaught towards the end resulted in India putting up a strong target for the Tigers to chase down.

Dhoni charges down the ground. He misses but Shakib hits as India lose thier seventh wicket.

After being hit for a six and a four, Shakib finally gets Pandya caught at long-on as he attempetd to go big for a maximum.

Dhoni tries to go over long on but gets a slight edge and the ball bounces off Liton Das' hands and goes for a boundary. Dhoni dropped on 79.

Rahul shuffles across but misses a Sabbir Rahman delivery that goes around his legs and knocks his stumps off. Sabbir brings an end to brilliant innings from KL Rahul who goes after scoring 108 off 99 balls.

35.2 , Ind 206: Dhoni slog sweeps Mehedi Miraz for six to bring up the 100-run partnership between him and Rahul.

Rahul goes back but the ball from Mehedi Hasan Miraz that pitched outside off took a wicked turn and goes past the keeper for five wides. India reach 150 as Dhoni and Rahul start rebuilding the innings.

KL Rahul pushes an Abu Jayed delivery on the off and takes a double to reach his fifty off 45 balls. 

 

India lose their fourth as Rubel bags his second

Outside edge through to the wicket-keeper. Shankar was looking to take the attack to Bangladesh along with KL Rahul at the other end. There goes one of India's No. 4 prospects.

 

Saifuddin castles Kohli with a yorker

Saifuddin runs in hard and bowls an yorker of considerable quality and pace. It gets through the defences of Virat Kohli as he is looking to play it towards the on side. Ball hits hits pad just slightly and crashes on to the stumps. Huge wicket.

India have consolidated after the early loss of Dhawan as Kohli and Rohit Sharma look to weather the early movement. A few outside edges fell short of the slip cordon as well. Soft hand coming into play from the India duo.

Fizz gets Dhawan early

A beautiful inswinger from Mustafizur beats Dhawan for pace as well -- an 137kph delivery. Beats the bats and hits the pad and the umpire raises his finger. Fizz gets the breakthrough.

 

 

11:04 am: The players are back on the field and Mustafizur Rahman finally completes the first over. No overs were lost and we will still have a 50-over-a-side game.

10:58 am: After 20 minutes during which there was more than a bit of a drizzle, the covers have been taken off and play is set to resume in Bangladesh's World Cup warm-up against India at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff.

The forecast was for cloudy weather till 11, and for once it seems to have held true as blue skies can be seen over the ground, promising a stretch of uninterrupted play. 

10:38 am: After just two minutes of play, during which Mustafizur Rahman Rahman delivered two balls and conceded four runs, the heavens open and force the players off the field.

10:36 am: The players are now on the field after a six-minute rain delay, with India openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to start proceedings against Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman. 

10:31 am: Cheers from the quite sizeable crowd (for a warm-up match) as the covers are taken off and the groundstaff rush to put the stumps in place.

10:20 am: A light drizzle brings the covers onto the field. 

10:00 am: Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza wins the toss in their World Cup warm-up against India and chooses to field first.
