Shakib makes it to Tamim's all time World Cup XI

Bangladesh's dashing opener, Tamim Iqbal picked team-mate Shakib Al Hasan in his all-time World Cup squad. Shakib was the only Bangladesh player to make Tamim's World Cup XI which he revealed while talking to ESPNCricinfo.

Tamim's team possesses some of the best cricketers in world cricket. India's former opening pair Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag opens the batting for Tamim's XI. Sachin holds the record for the highest international runs and highest number of centuries while Sehwag was considered to be one of the most destructive openers in world cricket.

Next in the batting lineup are the rampant Virat Kohli and the experienced Ricky Ponting.  With excellent quality of running between wickets and hitting big shots when necessary, the Indian skipper and the former Australian captain can slowly take away the game from any team. Ponting has the second highest tally of runs only after the great Sachin while the 30-year-old, Virat is the fastest player to reach 10,000 ODI runs.

Jacques Kallis, one of the best all-rounders in the world during his playing days and the current ODI no.1 all-rounder Shakib are next to make Tamim's squad. Kallis, a fine, forceful batsman who has at his disposal both a rock-solid technique and a mind impervious to distraction and Shakib, who has been performing consistently with bat and ball for the Bangladesh side over the past decade are a deadly combo, something that anyone would pay to watch.

To captain this star-studded side and to end the batting in a fitting style, Tamim picked one of the best finishers of the game, MS Dhoni, a calm player who packs a punch in the dying stages and marshals his troops with excellence.

Tamim did not hold back anything in picking his bowlers. Likes of Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and Glenn McGrath make up the fast bowling attack. The right arm - left arm pace duo from Pakistan have been at the batsmen's throats for years. Swingers from the "Sultan of Swing", Wasim and raw pace from the speedster Shoaib can cut open any batting line-up. On the other hand, even though, the right arm pacer from Australia was not the quickest, he was able to scalp a whopping 563 wickets in his international career, by crippling the opponents mentally to engineer improbable victories that helped an all-time great Australian side sustain its successful era.

Last but not the least, comes to the squad, a spinner, the King of Spin, Muttiah Muralitharan. A bowler said to take wickets with his eyes, played a vital role in Sri-Lanka's success scalping 563 ODI wickets and a record breaking 800 test wickets in his career.

Tamim's all-time World Cup XI:  Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis, Shakib Al Hasan, MS Dhoni ( C ), Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Glenn McGrath,  Muttiah Muralitharan.
