Shakib first player with 500 runs and 10 wickets in WC

Shakib Al Hasan became the first player in history to have scored 500 runs and scalp 10 wickets in one edition of World Cup.

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib was 24 runs shy off the 500-run mark in this World Cup. He reached the milestone when he pulled a Hardik Pandya delivery behind square towards deep fine leg to take a single in the 18th over of the Tigers' ongoing game against India at Edgbaston in Birmingham today.

Shakib became the 10th batsman to have scored 500 runs in one edition of World Cup to join the elite list of players.
