Shakib to be the saviour?

Bangladesh were on the verge of their second consecutive defeat in the ongoing World Cup when the Tigers were struggling on 186 for four in 35 overs against England in chase of a huge 387-run target.

England had posted the daunting total riding on a century from opener Jason Roy century in Cardiff yesterday. However Bangladesh vice-captain, the in-form Shakib Al Hasan, continued his brilliant run with the bat to register his maiden Word Cup hundred and remained the Tigers' only hope to succeed.

The World's number one ODI all-rounder remained unbeaten on a 102-ball 105 to reach his eighth ODI hundred in 95 balls while another experienced batsman, Mahmudullah Riyad, was on the crease on 13 when this report was filed.
