Mushy injured in training

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim suffered a knock on his left elbow during a practice session yesterday and went back to the dressing room following the injury. While Bangladesh coach Steve Rhodes was, however, hopeful that the injury is not very serious during a press conference yesterday, team manager Khaled Mahmud later informed that a decision on Mushfiqur's participation for today's match against Pakistan will be taken ahead of the match.

"Mushy got a little knock on the elbow in the nets, you might have seen. I've had no chance to see the physio yet. Generally, that sort of area, most people are okay. I don't remember too many people breaking elbows off four rounds of the bottom hand. So I'm hoping that he'll be okay, but I'll find out more and let you know as soon as I can," Rhodes said.

While X-Ray reports did not reveal any fractures, there is doubt regarding his participation.

"Mushfiqur is still in a lot of pain although X-Rays did not reveal any fractures," Mahmud told reporters yesterday. "The pain in his elbow is intense. For safety purposes he is using a sling on his arm. We will assess his condition tomorrow morning before taking a decision on his participation."
