McCullum predicts Bangladesh will win just one WC match

Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has predicted that Bangladesh will win just a single match in the World Cup in England.

The 2019 World Cup got underway yesterday and Bangladesh will get their campaign rolling with the game against South Africa on June 2. The Tigers harbour hopes of doing well in the tournament after clinching their first multi-nation tournament in Ireland recently, beating the West Indies in the final.

However, for Brendon, Bangladesh will not be in the run-in for a semifinal spot and their only win will be coming against Sri Lanka. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's men will lose all the other group stage matches, he predicted in an Instagram post.

England and India will finish top of the standings after the group stages with eight wins each. He predicted that England's only loss will come against the Aussies while India will lose their only match against hosts England.

Australia will finish third with six wins while four teams – New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa -- will vie for fourth spot. Afghanistan will win two while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will win one match each. The Tigers according to the former cricketer will finish bottom of the standings.

"World Cup game by game predictions.

"4 teams will fight out the 4th qualifying spot and net run rate will decide who progresses. Rain and luck will likely play a part as well. I hope Nz gets that little bit of luck and can qualify. Enjoy the 6 week celebration of the best players on the planet," McCullum posted on Instagram.
