‘Hello Rohan’: Ctg doctor held for audio clip on coronavirus that went viral

Police today arrested a doctor in Chattogram for circulating an audio clip on coronavirus related deaths that went viral on social media several days back.

Bijoy Basak, deputy commissioner (north) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said a team of Panchlaish Police Station arrested Iftekhar Adnan, a doctor, for spreading rumour about coronavirus on social media.

A 35-second audio clip that addressed someone named Rohan, mentioned deaths of coronavirus patients in a hospital and went viral in Facebook messenger groups several days back.  

Further details on the arrestee could not be known immediately.

Police will brief media soon in this regard, our Chattogram correspondent reports quoting a lawman.
