38 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, positivity rate now 6.41%
Thirty-eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,147 and the death rate stands at 1.76 percent.
At least 1,907 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,40,110, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 6.41 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.4 percent.
A total of 29,756 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours preceding 8:00am today.
At least 2,919 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,97,009 and the recovery rate at 97.2 percent.
Among the 38 deceased, 13 were men and 25 were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, one was within 21-30, two between 41-50, 15 between 51-60 and 19 were above 60 years old, added the release.
